Manly fullback Brett Stewart will stand trial to answer allegations he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl.
A committal hearing at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court ruled there was enough evidence to suggest there was a reasonable prospect a jury could find the Sea Eagles star guilty of the offences.
Stewart is accused of having sexual intercourse (digital penetration) with the teenager without her consent outside her home on March 6, 2009.
He is also facing a separate indecent assault charge after allegedly forcing his tongue into the girl's mouth.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Paul Cloran ordered Stewart to stand trial at the NSW District Court.
The case is listed for mention on April 9.
Stewart, who arrived in court on crutches ahead of surgery on his left knee, will have his bail continued.
