Paul Gallen has given his all to Cronulla over 199 games - now his team-mates are planning to hand something back in return.
The indefatigable Sharks skipper will rack up his double century of NRL matches against Wests Tigers at Toyota Stadium on Saturday night.
And Gallen's team-mates are desperate to mark the occasion with an upset victory over the in-form visitors.
Prop Luke Douglas, who will play his final game for the club before departing for the Titans, spoke for an entire team when he said: "Gal's the kind of bloke you want to play with."
"There's not another guy I'd rather play with."
"He's worked hard to get to where he is in his career and is an awesome role model."
"He's helped me out heaps. I am very grateful to have played with him and very grateful for what's he's given to me.
"That's what you want from a team-mate and a leader."
"We'll be doing everything we can to get out there and give him the win he deserves in his 200th game."
Typical of Gallen, he has pushed his body through the pain barrier in recent weeks to ensure he plays his 200th game with Douglas and Kade Snowden, who is also leaving the club.
"I've struggled the last couple of months with injury and quite possibly should have missed one or two games but I wouldn't have been able to play it (the 200th game this year)," he explained.
"I want to play with these boys and will be happy to run out with them."
"It will be a tough night but the last four or five weeks we've been in most games and probably just beaten ourselves."
"If we can do our own thing and not get overawed by the team we're playing then we're a fair chance."
"A win would be the perfect way to bring up 200."
The Sharks started the season as wooden spoon favourites but will finish 12th or 13th depending on last round results.
It will be the third year running Cronulla have missed the finals and Gallen's disappointment in palpable.
"I knew at the start of the year we weren't going to run last," he said.
"I was pretty confident that we had a side that could do something and up until 10 weeks ago we showed that we could mix it with a few sides and there was even talk about the top eight."
"That was our goal but it hasn't turned out that way. It's been really disappointing and we have to make sure we rectify things next year."
