Sharks sew up Graham

Sharks sew up Graham

07/27/2010 07:45:06 AM

Promising Penrith five-eighth Wade Graham has joined Cronulla on a two-year deal.

The signing of Graham is sure to excite Sharks fans as the young gun has racked up 39 first-grade appearances at the tender age of 19.

Graham, often compared to Brad Fittler, made his debut as a 17-year-old in 2008 and is a key signing for new coach Shane Flanagan in Cronulla's search for their first NRL premiership.

"Wade is a superb athlete who I'm very excited about. He is only 19 years old, has played first grade and all his best footy is in front of him. He has a lot of potential," Flanagan said.

"I know a lot of the boys are very excited about his signing and it's great to see a player of Wade's calibre come to the Sharks."

Whilst Graham is undoubtedly a talent on the field, his ability off the field were also pivotal in his signing."

Sharks General Manager of Football Darren Mooney added: "His qualities off the field are also very important to the culture we want to create here at Cronulla."

It's been a disappointing season for the Sharks who are currently second-last on the NRL ladder.
