Ryan to contest charge

Wests Tigers winger Beau Ryan will attempt to have his dangerous conduct charge downgraded when he fronts the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night.
Ryan was hit with a grade three dangerous contact (unnecessary head/neck pressure) charge by the NRL's match review committee following Monday night's fiery encounter against Manly at the SFS.
He could have served a three-match ban by taking the early guilty plea but Tigers officials have opted to fight the grading.
Ryan will miss four matches if unsuccessful at the tribunal.
Manly trio Kieran Foran, Brent Kite and George Rose have all taken the early guilty plea for separate careless high tackle charges stemming from the same match.
Foran and Kite are both free to play for the Sea Eagles in Sunday's clash with Parramatta while Rose will miss one match.
Meanwhile Bulldogs hooker Michael Ennis will also serve a one-match ban after pleading guilty to a careless high tackle from Round 1.
Ennis will miss Friday night's match against the Dragons with former Cronulla half Blake Green taking his spot in the team.
Gold Coast's Bodene Thompson and the Warriors' James Maloney are free to play on the weekend after entering early guilty pleas to danger contact (with the kicker) charges.
