Five-eighth James Maloney has confirmed he will stay at the Warriors for the remaining one year left on his contract with the Auckland club.
The confirmation comes after reports in the Australian press linked the Warriors playmaker to an early release after signing with the Sydney Roosters at the end of next year.
Maloney said the rumours were just that.
"One hundred percent I'm here this year.
"I don't know where it's come from. I'm happy here and I'm happy to be here with the boys for another year so that's squashed there."
Discussing his Roosters contract, Maloney said he was relieved to have his long-term future in the game sorted beyond 2012.
"Hopefully it won't affect the footy - that was the whole idea of getting it done early so I can knuckle down and have a good year."
The year looks set to be a good already if league legend Andrew Johns' input into the halves is anything to go by.
"Obviously his knowledge for the game is A1, isn't it."
"I don't think anyone doubts that and what he's done in the game. Even for the young fellas it's a buzz having him around, and we're definitely picking up a lot of things."
"It's great to have him working with us and it's obviously going to make a big difference this year."
Having young star Shaun Johnson paired with in the halves from the pre-season rather than late in the season would also make a big difference, said Maloney.
"To have a full pre-season under our belt and get organised and know what we're doing - he only came in late last year so we didn't have that time - to have that full pre-season and get things working out hopefully it'll be a big year."
