GI to miss NRL opener

South Sydney star Greg Inglis will definitely miss the start of the NRL season after scans confirmed he would be out for four to six weeks.
Inglis was diagnosed with a chip fracture and sprained ligaments in his left ankle stemming from Saturday night’s NRL All Stars match on the Gold Coast.
It means the Test and Origin star would need a minor miracle to be fit for the Rabbitohs' season-opener against the Sydney Roosters on March 4.
"Greg may be out of our side for a few weeks and I know he will work as hard as he can to get back as soon as possible," Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire said.
"However we have other options in the centres and this will give some young guys a chance to start the season."
"We have guys like Shaune Corrigan and Dylan Farrell who have first grade experience that have had great pre-seasons, so we'll be looking to those guys to step up and do the job."
The Rabbitohs play the NZ Warriors in Coffs Harbour on Saturday night before their annual Charity Shield clash against St George Illawarra on February 18.
