Sydney Roosters hooker Jake Friend will remain at the club until at least the end of the 2015 season after agreeing to a new deal on Wednesday.
Friend, who at just 21 has already played 69 games, underlined his commitment to the club by signing a new three-year contract extension.
"I love this club and I'm really happy to be contracted here long term," said Jake.
"I have made some great mates here and I'm excited to extend my stay at the Roosters and continue to grow with this group of guys."
The Queenslander joined the Roosters on a scholarship when he was 15 and in 2008 progressed from SG Ball through to Toyota Cup to the NRL in just four months.
He enjoyed a standout season in 2011 with his efforts earning him the club's highest individual award, the Jack Gibson Medal.
"We see Jake Friend as integral to our future. Jake has worked tirelessly to develop himself on and off the footy field, and he's to be commended for that," said Roosters coach Brian Smith.
"Apart from his great football talent, Jake is highly thought of by the players, staff, members and sponsors alike."
"We are very pleased to have Jake on board for four more years as we build to reach our full potential."
Friend joins fellow young Roosters Mitchell Pearce, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Martin Kennedy, Tom Symonds and Mitchell Aubusson on long-term contracts.
