Australia hooker Robbie Farah has flown home from the Kangaroos' Four Nations campaign after his mother Sonia was struck with illness.
Farah tweeted "I love u mum xx" before boarding a plane from London to Sydney.
The Tigers star was set to fly to Berlin for a mid-tour break with team-mates before playing in Australia’s final group match against Wales on the weekend.
But upon hearing news of his mother's diagnosis, Farah approached coach Tim Sheens for permission to leave the tour on compassionate grounds.
Meanwhile, the Kangaroos are also likely to be without Tony Williams against Wales after he was charged with a high tackle on England back rower Ben Westwood.
