Parramatta has been dealt a massive blow with hard-working forward Shane Shackleton ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious hamstring injury.
Shackleton suffered the injury to his right leg early in the second half of the Eels' Round 1 loss to the Dragons on Friday night.
The 27-year-old former Rooster had emergency surgery on Saturday to repair the damage and will remain in hospital for the coming days as his leg needs to be immobilised.
A replacement will be named on Tuesday when coach David Anderson names his team for Sunday's blockbuster against Manly.
