Prolific St George Illawarra winger Brett Morris admits his hat-trick of tries in the big win over a Canterbury-Bankstown side featuring his brother exceeded even his own lofty expectations.
Friday's 26-6 victory was the first time the Morris brothers have come face to face in the top grade since Josh decided to leave the Dragons and link with the Bulldogs at the beginning of last season.
The identical twins finished one and two on the try scorers' list in 2009, with Brett finishing three clear on 25 tries.
But it was Josh who led the way in the private duel heading into the match after scoring two tries in the opening round against Newcastle.
"I was just hoping to get two tries to catch up to Josh but I did one better and I've got him covered now and hopefully I can stay on top," Brett said.
"It's always good to get some ball when you're playing on the wing and it's also good to finish - it's good to know you're doing your job out there."
"The boys inside me did a good job and they got me the ball and I was just lucky enough to finish them."
While the talented siblings barely crossed paths throughout the match, they provided one of the highlights for the 16,177 fans on hand at WIN Stadium.
The heated contest threatened to erupt in the 40th minute as both sides converged after an altercation involving Bryson Goodwin and several Dragons players.
Brett raced off his wing and collared Josh from behind who swiftly turned and pretended to throw a flurry of punches, much to the amusement of everyone at the ground.
"That was a bit of fun," Brett laughed.
"I was nearly going to put him in a sleeper hold but I thought I shouldn't do that because there's kids out there and they might get some bad ideas."
"I just grabbed him out and all of a sudden he started swinging at me."
"I could hear him laughing when he was throwing them. It was a bit of fun and we'll catch up after the game and have a beer and have a laugh about it."
Meanwhile, Dragons coach Wayne Bennett praised his side's start which saw it open up a 16-0 lead after 17 minutes, but the master mentor wasn't getting carried away with the performance.
"It was a good start by us but they were a little bit off the pace at the start," Bennett said.
"I don't think they would have been happy with the way they started, but we started good and that's all we can control."
"We can probably go through and talk about opportunities we missed here tonight and things we could have done better ... so of course there's lots of (room for) improvement."
"It's ridiculous to think that we're at the top of our game after two weeks."
