Hugh Bowman - Polanski (1st): “He was slow out because he was in there a while and he’s a big, strong horse and we got into a bit of trouble around the first corner and it was a concern when the pace was steady but the pace picked up at the 1400m and I thought it was going to take a good horse to beat him.”

Kerrin McEvoy - Complacent (2nd) : "He didn't step that clean so I had to ride him quiet, I got in to a nice spot on the back of Savvy Nature but interference near the 1800m or just past the 2000m put him in a terrible spot. He was lucky to stay on his feet so the horse did a fantastic job to run second."

Peter Robl - Thunder Fantasy (3rd) : "He ran terrific, really run above expectations so it was a good run."

Craig Williams - Criterion (4th) : "He ran a great race from the draw, we nearly sold out soon after the start, he lost his rhythm and his momentum, he was never travelling from that point. He did a great job to pick up and run fourth in the Derby."

Craig Newitt - Tupac Amaru (5th) : "I almost got put over the fence early on and then I got held up behind a few slow horses, once he got out he charged to the line, it was a super run."

Damien Oliver - Drago (6th) : "Ran okay, probably just didn't see out the last bit of the distance but ran a good race."

Glen Boss - Bring Something (7th) : "He was good, in the autumn they will have a nice horse. He has got a lot to learn."

Luke Nolen - Honey Steel's Gold (8th) : "He ran sound, this Derby might have come too soon for him. There is about four next year for him and if they aim at one of them I am sure he will go pretty close in it."

Nicholas Hall - Surging Wave (9th) : "He needs to be ridden forward and we couldn't today.

Dwayne Dunn - Famechon (10th) : "He will come back two stone lighter next preparation and I think he will develop in to a nice horse."

Chris Symons - Epic Saga (11th) : "He ran well, I had to do a bit of overtime to get in to a great position. Got stuck behind a couple of nags around the turn, had no other option but to wait. He just was one paced when I did get out. He is going to the paddock and it is debatable whether he run out the trip."

Steven Arnold - San Diego (12th) : "Just pulled too hard."

Nash Rawiller - Pinstripe Lane (13th) : "He just felt flat today, I couldn't tack on."

James McDonald - Savvy Nature (14th) : "Disappointing, I'm not sure if he stayed. Maybe come to the end of his campaign."

Thomas Sadler - Throw The King (15th) : "Just never really travelled, plan was to get a bit of a gap by the back. Just couldn't get him in to stride, not too disappointed, had a runner in the Derby."

Brett Prebble - Tips And Beers (16th) : "I think you need to look at the replay."
