Patrick O'Donnell is a 20-year-old with 30 winners to his name in the UK where he is apprenticed to Group I winning trainer Ralph Beckett.

Claiming 2kg in the city, provincial and country, O'Donnell is looking forward to his Australian summer stint with Waller.

"It's a great opportunity,” O'Donnell said. "I rode a few trials during the week and can't wait to get to the races.”

O'Donnell rides at 51kg.

Meanwhile, champion Kiwi apprentice Rory Hutchings will begin riding at more New South Wales meetings, venturing to Nowra on Sunday.

Hutchings, a Group I winner in New Zealand has extended his stay with the Waller stable for at least the next eight months.

Hutchings, who rides at 56kg, claims 1.5kg in the city but has outridden his claim at the provincial and country meetings.
