A total of 41mls has been recorded in the past seven days with 8.5mls overnight and 34.5mls in the previous 36 hours.
"It's not too bad,” Rosehill trackman Chris Toogood said. "We have missed most of the rain that's been falling in Sydney but we've copped enough for it to have an effect.
"There are some showers showing up on the radar but they are south of us so with a bit of luck we might avoid them.
"If we continue to get favourable conditions leading up to Saturday it will be fair to expect the track is capable of improving into the soft range.”
The rail for Saturday's meeting will be in the true position for the first time since the July 18 meeting which was held on heavy (9) surface.
