The TAB fixed odds team has provided Racenet a review of its betting activity on the day.

Race 1: Despite the late drift, Rafha's Choice provided a good start for punters who backed him from $5.50 to $4.20 (closed $4.60). Third placed Taj Mahal ($6 into as short as $3.80 - started $4.20) couldn't land the late plunge while the unplaced Geneteau continued to ease (as short as $3.50 to $4.20).

Race 2: Favourite punters didn't have too much to worry about as Telepathic easily accounted for her rivals at $1.45 (was as short as $1.40). Best Case was given the best chance from an odds-on perspective to cause an upset ($5-$8) but he finished fourth in a seven-horse field.

Race 3: Ghisoni was the $2.30 favourite this morning and drifted to $2.80 but she was that price for most of betting and duly saluted with dual $5,000 bets at $2.80 occurring. The plunge for Miss Liffey ($9.50 to as short as $6 before closing $7) didn't come off.

Race 4: Royal Jackpot poked through late and punters who took the opening price of $15 were celebrating and the support continued today (as much as $13 into $8). Unplaced favourite High Opinion was backed early ($4.20-$3.50) before drifting ($3.50-$4.20) while Ashjata ($7-$4.60-$5) finished third.

Race 5: Dublin Lass - who opened $3.50 last Wednesday - was slightly easy race morning ($2.30-$2.80) but favourite punters backed the Starlight Stakes winner into $2.60 before the barriers opened. The unplaced That's A Good Idea drifted late ($3.20-$3.80) while Fiftyshadesofgrey - who just finished out of the placings - was specked late ($8-$7).

Race 6: Typhoon Jolie drifted slightly late in betting from $3.80 to $4.20 but the favourite let down punters with the mare not finishing in the placings. I Am Zelady was a popular second pick and hovered around the $6-$7 mark all day before closing $7.

Race 7: Happy Clapper defied the drift which saw the gelding go from $2.80 to $3.80 in the last 15 minutes of betting even with one bet of $5,000 at $3.20. The best backed late to beat the eventual winner was Electrifyin' (as much as $13 into $8) who failed to finish in the placings.

Race 8: Favourite punters were counting the cost of the Festival Stakes with Frespanol missing the placings after being supported from $4.60 this morning into $3.80. Runner-up It's Somewhat was rock solid in the market at $5 while Mighty Lucky didn't budge from his price of $21 all day.

Race 9: Mohave didn't start favourite but he was the best backed galloper ($7-$4.60 today) with one wager of $5,000 each-way at $6/$2.05 but could only manage third. Religify kept easing as favourite throughout the day ($3.20-$4.20) while Got The Goss remained $11 all day.
