A total of 10 entries were taken for the Run To The Rose on Monday morning, including the returning Press Statement for Chris Waller.<

Press Statement, winner of the Group I JJ Atkins during the Brisbane winter carnival, commences his spring campaign in the race and is expected to contest races such as the Golden Rose and Caulfield Guineas over the coming weeks.

Press Statement's biggest threat on Saturday may come in the shape of rampant stablemate Japonisme, which is coming off four consecutive wins this preparation.

Godolphin have nominated Exosphere and Holler, both of which are first-up, while Gai Waterhouse has impressive midweek winner Raphael's Cat entered.

The Listed Premier's Cup (1800m) has attracted 13 entries. The Waller-trained Opinion is the highest rated on 105, ahead of stablemate Beyond Thankful (100m) and Waterhouse's Spurtonic (100).

John O'Shea is set to start Godolphin's imported gallopers Magic Hurricane and Havana Cooler in the race as they head towards the Group I Metropolitan (2400m) on October 3.

A small but competitive list of horses are set to start in the Benchmark 95 handicap (1500m). John Sargent's last start winner Centre Pivot will likely be the topweight from stablemate Thunder Lady and the Joe Pride-trained Adorabeel. In form gallopers Marenostro, Hollywood Bound and Foreign Prince make up the remaining entries.

In the 3YO Benchmark 72 Handicap (1400m) 14 horses have been nominated, seven of which are last-start winners.

Wudang Mountain and Devil Hawk form part of a quartet for Waller in the contest while the Waterhouse-trained River Wild, which won by six lengths on debut at Kembla Grange, is also in contention.

Godolphin's superbly-bred Pearls is one of only two fillies in the race and is set to step up from her impressive win on debut at Gosford earlier this month.
