There are 48 three-year-olds left in the 1600m contest, headed by last start winners Bassett, Bon Aurum and Tarzino with Press Statement one of three trained by Chris Waller still eligible for the race.

The card features three other Group I races - the Thousand Guineas for three-year-old fillies, the Caulfield Stakes at weight-for-age and the Toorak Handicap over 1600m.

Entries for the Caulfield Stakes have been extended till Tuesday following just nine nominations for the $400,000 contest over 2000m, Fawkner the highest rated entry one point ahead of Kermadec.

There are still 54 fillies left in the Thousand Guineas including last Saturday's Flight Stakes winner Speak Fondly and the Phillip Stokes-trained Miss Gunpowder.

The Darren Weir-trained Lucky Hussler is the highest rated horse among the 20 entered for the Toorak Handicap, the next highest his stablemate Stratum Star, last start winner of the Group I Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield.

Nominations have been extended until Tuesday morning for the Group II Schillaci Stakes, where Lankan Rupee is the highest rated, and the Group III Cape Grim Beef Steaks (1200m) for mares where the Robert Smerdon-trained Politeness is the highest rated of the 15 nominations.
