No final-day joy for McCoy at Cheltenham

There was no dream finish for Tony McCoy on the final day of his last Cheltenham Festival as the champion jockey was unable to secure another winner.

McCoy will retire at the end of the season and the stage was set for him to win the final race of the week as he boarded the favourite Ned Buntline for a race named the A.P. McCoy Grand Annual Handicap Chase in his honour.

The seven-year-old gelding was unable to deliver one last Cheltenham win for McCoy, though, finishing fourth as Next Sensation took the honours.

McCoy was given a rousing reception as he entered the winners' enclosure for the final time in his illustrious career and signs off with 31 Cheltenham Festival winners as a result of his solitary success of the week on Uxizandre on Thursday.
