Brooklyn finished third to Thurlow and Haybah in the Chairman's Stakes (1000m) in Melbourne in February but was beaten as an odds-on favourite when resuming on the Morphettville Parks track on August 5.
Brooklyn raced handy on that occasion before finishing third as a $1.95 favourite but bookies have installed the son of Hinchinbrook as a $2.20 favourite again in Wednesday's National Transport Insurance Maiden (906m) at Murray Bridge.
Trainer Lloyd Kennewell says a win over the shorter trip would boost the gelding's confidence for the rest of his preparation.
"We're just trying to get his confidence up a bit,” Kennewell said. "We're just trying to win a race with him as a starting point.
"He over-raced bit last-start and he didn't really finish the race off so we thought we'd come back to 900 (metres).
"Hopefully he can run that trip out.”
Kennewell has added a Norton Bit to Brooklyn's gear for the $12,000 contest.
Brooklyn has drawn well in barrier four, which will be a help for jockey Joe Bowditch in the three-year-old's bid to turn the tables on Crusin' Kate, who finished almost a length ahead of him when they met at Morphettville Parks.
The Richard Jolly-trained Crusin' Kate is a $2.90 second favourite behind Brooklyn but the filly will have the advantage of a previous look at the 900m course at Murray Bridge when she finished second on debut in April.
Paul Gatt will be aboard Crusin' Kate.
