Club Star will shoot for a hat trick of wins in Saturday's Benchmark 78 Handicap over 1600m after notching victories at Seymour and Kyneton.

The son of Starcraft's latest wins have been at Benchmark 64 and 70 levels but Moody is happy to continue to guide the gelding through his grades during his spring and summer campaign.

"He's a solid, honest type of horse that could go through his grades this time in,” Moody said.

"He'll go the Valley where he's graded in his right grade and he should be competitive again.

"His work was good this morning.”

Moody sent the four-year-old to work over 1200m, clocking 1:25.68 for the entire trip while working home his last 400m in 25.62 seconds.

The trainer has nominated Sino Eagle for the 1200m mares' race. The six-year-old worked over 800m in 52.18 seconds to complete her preparation for her first outing since her rearward effort over 1600m at Caulfield on August 15.

Staying mare Imperial Lass is entered for a Benchmark 90 race over 2500m at Moonee Valley as well as a race over the same distance in Adelaide on Saturday.

Moody said he was unsure which race Imperial Lass would contest but she worked over 1600m with Spectacular Vision, who is also entered for the Adelaide race, clocking 1:54 with the last 400m run in 24.96 seconds.
