The John O'Shea-trained Sanzio looks well-weighted in the Electel Services Benchmark 70 Handicap (1200m) despite being asked to carry 58kg.

The five-year-old son of Redoute's Choice will be having his fifth run back from a 582-day break between races and should be right at his peak.

Sanzio won first-up on the Pakenham synthetic track carrying 60kg in a benchmark 60 handicap on June 4 before being stepped up to a benchmark 70 at the same track finishing on the placegetters heels carrying 59kg.

Sanzio didn't handle a heavy track at Cranbourne on July 19 but turned in a solid performance in a benchmark 70 handicap at Canterbury when switched to Sydney last-start fighting on strongly before finishing third to the promising Artistry and Burning Passion carrying 57.5kg.

Sanzio looks well placed with 58kg at Goulburn on Thursday and will have the services of an in form Sam Clipperton.

Austin's galloper Kalia gets her chance to win a maiden in the Franks Financial Planning Maiden Plate (1600m).

Kalia has been runner-up in three of her five runs this preparation and was desperately unlucky at Wyong on August 7 hitting the line strongly after being put out of business by a riderless horse.

Last-start at Newcastle Kalia chased hard at her first run over a mile but was unable to reel in the winner No Return.

Back to a set-weight maiden with the 1600 metre run under her belt, Kalia with Jeff Penza in the saddle looks set to score a confidence boosting maiden win.
