At first glance Star Of Legs will be rising in grade when he takes on open company in the Carlton Mid Coffs Coast Open Handicap (1415m). A closer look at the field strength figures suggest that is not necessarily the case.

Star Of Legs finished 3-3/4 lengths from the winner in a benchmark 65 handicap at Taree last time out which carried an average benchmark rating of 63.76 and a median figure of 64.

Despite being classified as an open handicap Tuesday's race carries an average benchmark rating of 62.57 and a median figure of 62 which puts Star Of Legs well in at the weights considering the gelding will carry less on Tuesday.

Equally important is the speedmap which has Star Of Legs high-balling out in front uncontested.

The weight and speedmap combined suggest Star Of Legs will take plenty of running down at Coffs Harbour on Tuesday.

Hear Greg Polson's full assessment of Coffs Harbour on RSN when he previews the meeting at approximately 11.25am.
