Greg Polson's view - Promising gelding set for hat-trick at Scone

Chivadahlii will be having his second run back from a break when the son of Nothin' Leica Dane lines up in the Yellowglen Benchmark 65 Handicap (1200m) with Blake Spriggs in the saddle.

Chivadahlii showed plenty of promise in his first two preparations winning races at Scone and Muswellbrook and finishing runner-up in his other three starts but it was his win at Scone on September 15 when resuming from a break which underlined his potential.

Chivadahlii blew the start by at least three lengths but jockey Blake Spriggs didn't panic allowing the gelding the chance to get in his rhythm before producing a scintillating finish to win a class two handicap running away.

Chivadahlii ran closings sectionals bettered only by Alart who won over the same distance on the day and of course that galloper was able to win the Reginald Allen Quality at Rosehill on September 26.

That augers well for Chivadahlii taking on provincial grade.

This is certainly Chivadahlii's toughest test to date but the four-year-old looks right up to the task.
