Badawiya to run in the Thousand Guineas

Badawiya ran out the comfortable winner of Sunday's Group II Edward Manifold Stakes over 1600m at Flemington, her third win from six starts.

Price had expressed a concern post-race about Badawiya, a lightly made filly, coping with a quick back up however the daughter of Al Maher has come through the race in good order.

"She's only a little mouse of a thing but I had a good look at her this morning and she pulled up good,” Price said.

"I've spoken to Sheikh Khalifa's racing manager Tim Stakemire this morning and we're going to accept in the Thousand Guineas.”

Damien Oliver rode Badawiya to a two length victory on Saturday but will miss the ride following another suspension.

Craig Newitt has been booked to ride Badawiya in the Thousand Guineas.
