Star mare Atlantic Jewel will take on seven rivals on Saturday when she attempts to maintain her unbeaten status in Melbourne.

Atlantic Jewel was nominated for two races at Moonee Valley, with trainer Mark Kavanagh deciding to run the exciting five-year-old in the Group Two Stocks Stakes over 1600m.

Successful at every one of her eight starts, Atlantic Jewel was a sensational first-up winner in the Group One Memsie Stakes at Caulfield and is already holding on to favouritism for next month's Cox Plate at Moonee Valley.

But on the road to the Cox Plate, Atlantic Jewel must negotiate a small field this weekend that includes the Mick Price-trained Fibrillation and last year's Stocks Stakes winner Oasis Bloom

Atlantic Jewel will jump from barrier two with experienced jockey Michael Rodd on board.
