Racenet's Speedmaps spokesman Greg Polson said Saturday's race is likely to be a tactical affair with little speed engaged.

"I'm expecting Spurtonic to be the leader and he won't be doing the chasers any favours,” Polson said. "Kapour led a couple of mile and half races during the winter but I don't think he'll have the speed to lead this.

"Beyond Thankful and Magic Hurricane come next with Silverball on Magic Hurricane's back.

"This could come down to the best ride and the chasers will need to be on their game or the leader could easily pinch this.”

Corporate bookie Ladbrokes are offering $3.20 for the favourite Magic Hurricane, $4.20 Kapour,$4.40 Silverball, $5.50 Beyond Thankful, $7 Spurtonic with the other runners at $19 or better.

"There are two value runners - the leader Spurtonic and the horse with the best jockey, Beyond Thankful,” Racenet Ratings spokesman Cameron Happ said.

"Spurtonic is racing well and gets favours here. The $7 is over the odds, we have him priced at around 5/1.

"If this race is decided by the best ride then Hugh Bowman (Beyond Thankful) is the jockey you want in your corner.

"Beyond Thankful is going as well as he's ever gone and he's a genuine wet-tracker.

"We think he's a 13/4 chance so the $5.50 is good value.”
