The Lloyd Williams-owned import created a huge buzz on Caulfield Guineas day when scoring a superb victory in the Herbert Power Stakes which carries Caulfield Cup ballot exemption.

Amralah is handicapped on 51.5kg in the Caulfield Cup but his high-profile owner confirmed on Sunday the six-year-old son of Teofilo would not run for the third time in as many weeks in the feature handicap, instead shifting his focus to Flemington.

With Amralah to miss the Caulfield Cup, Sydney trainer Chris Waller will be the beneficiary with Grand Marshal likely to sneak into the 18th place in the field.

Grand Marshall sits in 20th place in the Caulfield Cup order of entry but with ballot exempt gallopers Amralah and stablemate Preferment to miss Caulfield's biggest race, Grand Marshal and Magicool (19th) take the last two places.

Williams said Amralah's main aim is the Melbourne Cup but the entire could line up on Victoria Derby day in the Group I Mackinnon Stakes.

"He's a strong stayer and I'd have to say he'd be a Melbourne Cup chance on that run down in the weights," jockey Hugh Bowman said after the Herbert Power Stakes win.

Amralah is handicapped on 51.5kg for the Melbourne Cup but Saturday's Herbert Power Stakes win has left him open to a penalty for the $6 million feature which Racing Victoria's chief handicapper Greg Carpenter will announce on Monday.

Amralah was an $11 chance in the Caulfield Cup and is at $21 for the Melbourne Cup.
