2015 Caulfield Cup third acceptors and order of entry

Eleven of the horses in the top 38 in the order of entry released on Monday are no longer in the running for the rich Caulfield handicap. The number of contenders for the Caulfield Cup reduced from 81 to 38 at the third acceptance stage.

John O'Shea has withdrawn BMW winner Hartnell while international entry Max Dynamite, injured galloper Alpine Eagle, retiree Foreteller, New Zealand Derby winner Puccini and Peter Moody's Hi World are all out of contention.

Godolphin galloper Magic Hurricane jumped from 30th to equal 24th at the latest acceptance stage with his 2.5kg penalty for winning last Saturday's The Metropolitan, increasing his Caulfield Cup weight to 52.5kg.

The three horses with ballot exemption for the Caulfield Cup - Sunday's Turnbull Stakes winner Preferment (53.5kg), Naturalism Stakes winner Magnapal (50.5kg) and UK galloper Snow Sky (58kg) all remain in contention for the race.

Queensland Derby winner Magicool, trained by Mark Kavanagh, holds down the prized 18th place in the order of entry.

Four horses sit at the top of pre-post Caulfield Cup betting at $10 and the quartet of gallopers are all currently in the field. Preferment (ballot exempt), Fame Game (5th), Hauraki (13th) and Set Square (17th).
