Woods has been working closely with Como, 36, since ending his four-year association with swing coach Sean Foley in August.

But the 38-year-old only officially revealed the partnership with Como on Saturday ahead of his long-awaited return to golf at the Hero World Challenge event next month, having not featured on the PGA Tour since missing the cut at the US PGA Championship in August due to a persistent back injury.

"I was introduced to Chris this summer by Notah [Begay] and subsequently we had several good conversations about the golf swing," Woods said in a statement.

"I've worked with him about a month since I started practising. Chris will consult and work with me during the year."

The Hero World Challenge - Woods' annual tournament that raises funds for his foundation - tees off on December 4 at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Isleworth, Florida.
