Tiger Woods has risen to 21st in the official world golf rankings after his Chevron World Challenge victory.

Woods ended a two-year title drought when he triumphed at the Sherwood Country Club on Sunday, beating off a stern challenge from Zach Johnson.

It was Woods' fifth win at the tournament and followed a recent third-placed finish at the Australian Open.

His impressive form of late has seen him move up from a ranking of 58th in November to the edge of the top 20.

England's Luke Donald retains his world number one spot after a seventh-place finish at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City in South Africa over the weekend.

The Englishman has held the top ranking for 28 weeks and cannot be usurped this year.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy, England's Lee Westwood and Germany's Martin Kaymer maintained their places in the top four, while American Steve Stricker has moved into fifth.

Stricker's ascent came courtesy of compatriot Dustin Johnson's slip to seventh, with Australian Adam Scott moving up to sixth.

Scott's countryman Jason Day remains in eighth and Americans Webb Simpson and Matt Kuchar are ninth and 10th respectively.
