Woods' agent coy on Masters appearance

TigerWoods - Cropped

Tiger Woods' agent is remaining tight-lipped on the former world number one's chances of playing in The Masters.

Woods has claimed the green jacket on four occasions, most recently in 2005, but the 14-time major winner's game has fallen apart in recent times.

A raft of injuries and a severe loss of form have seen Woods drop out of the world's top 100 for the first time since 1996, and he has not played competitively since pulling out of the Farmers Insurance Open in February.

On Wednesday, Mark Steinberg, Woods' agent, confirmed in an email reported by ESPN that his client had played an 18-hole practice round at Augusta ahead of the first major of the year, but he was reluctant to shed any light on whether that meant Woods would tee off at the tournament proper next Thursday.

"Tiger clearly is working hard and he will advise as to when he is ready to play competitively," Steinberg told ESPN.
