Rory McIlroy and Paul Casey will need another day to finish their deadlocked quarterfinal battle after play was suspended due to darkness Saturday.

McIlroy had a six-foot putt on the 21st hole to win the match and send Casey packing, but was unable to convert. He hit his drive just left of the green on the drivable par-4 16th, and with Casey in the trees to the right, McIlroy looked to be in the driver's seat.

"It was back and forth throughout," McIlroy said on Golf Channel. "I made a couple of key up-and-downs to extend the match, but also missed a couple opportunities to close it out."

Casey sunk a four-footer for par on the 21st hole and seemed relieved to get another chance to beat the No. 1 ranked player.

"I dodged a couple bullets," Casey said on Gold Channel with a chuckle. "I thought I was done there (on 16), but now we can reset and resume tomorrow."

Three of the four semifinalists are decided, with Jim Furyk, Danny Willett and Gary Woodland all winning convincingly in the quarterfinals. McIlroy and Casey will resume play at 6:45 a.m. PT, and the semifinals will preclude soon after.

Here's a look at Sunday's semifinal matches:

Jim Furyk vs. Rory McIlroy/Paul Casey:

McIlroy had to give his Mayweather/Pacquiao tickets away to fellow Englishman Lee Westwood as his match prolonged into the sunset. Furyk, 44, has held up nicely in this marathon of an event, and seemed to get stronger as his match went on against Louis Oosthuizen. The morning match will be interesting, and Furyk should get a chance to see how his next opponent plays under pressure.

Gary Woodland vs. Danny Willett:

Willett and Woodland have arguably been the most impressive golfers this week. Woodland looks very confident blistering the ball off the tee and continues to roll in clutch putts. Willett, 27, is a little-known commodity in the States, but his game shows no clear weakness. It will be imperative for one of these guys to get off to a fast start, and put a damper on the other's momentum.

Prediction: Woodland 3&2
