Jordan Spieth shot a 9-under 63 on Saturday to climb into contention at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions, a tournament in China that includes eight of the top 12 players in international golf rankings.

To win, he must climb over leader Kevin Kisner and three other players in Sunday's final round. Dustin Johnson, the tournament's winner two years ago, is among players tied for second.

Spieth could have been better. He missed four putts from inside 10 feet. Make them, and he would have shot 59.

Because of the time difference, the final round in Shanghai begins on Saturday night in the U.S. Spieth is tied for fifth at 13-under. Scotland's Russell Knox and China's Hao Tong Li are tied with Johnson at 15-under, a stroke behind Kisner. Johnson shot a 7-under 65 in the third round.

Here are the top contenders and what they must do to win:

Kevin Kisner (16-under): Kisner struggled in Round 3 as others were carding birdies. He did birdie two out of his last four holes to close out the day, so he will look to carry that momentum into the final round. It's imperative he doesn't get psyched out by Johnson's length off the tee.

Dustin Johnson (15 under): "DJ" looks confident, which spells trouble for his competitors. When Johnson is at his best, he smashes a tight draw off the tee about 350 yards down the fairway and sticks wedges to tap-in range. Bad Johnson, which we've seen in recent big events' final rounds, hits shots that make average amateurs cringe. Johnson must remain calm and keep doing the things right.

Hao Tong Li (15-under): Li, a 30-year-old from Hunan, showed flashes of brilliance on the European and Asian tours and now has a chance for his biggest victory. He birdied his first four holes in Round 3, and then settled in nicely the rest of the day. Another fast start would likely quell his nerves.

Russell Knox (15-under): Like Li, Knox got a quick start on Saturday. Unlike Li, Knox struggled after birdieing his first three holes, shooting even par on the next 15 holes. Even par is not good enough to win on this course.

Jordan Spieth (13-under): After starting the third round 10 shots back, Spieth birdied four of his first eight holes Saturday. When Spieth gets on a birdie binge, there's not much anyone can do to stop him.

Tied with Spieth: Patrick Reed and England's Ross Fisher. Down the leaderboard: Sergio Garcia, 10-under; Henrik Stenson and Hunter Mahan, 9-under; Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler, 8-under; and Bubba Watson, 7-under.
