In-form American Jimmy Walker will be looking to claim back-to-back wins as the PGA Tour moves to the Houston Open this week.

San Antonio resident Walker enjoyed a happy homecoming last week after cruising to a four-shot victory at the Valero Texas Open.

The FedEx Cup leader is the only multiple winner on Tour this season, having also taken out the Sony Open in January.

Walker remains in Texas, with the Houston Open next up before golf's best descend on Augusta for The Masters on April 9.

"To play this well at home in front of everybody, it's amazing," Walker said after sealing the Valero Texas Open.

"I don't know how else to describe it or I'd be a writer, like you guys. I don't know how to describe it. It's cool."

"I just tried to stay composed and not get ahead of myself. Out here, no lead is safe and on this golf course a big number is right around the corner if you're not careful."

Jordan Spieth, who is 500 points adrift in the FedEx Cup race, finished with the runners-up cheque at TPC San Antonio.

Spieth was no match for his countryman in San Antonio, however, the Valspar Championship winner is feeling good about his game heading to the Golf Club of Houston in Humble.

"I feel great with my last start being a win, and this being a runner-up," said Spieth, who was tied for second at Augusta last year.

"I'm going to play next week in Houston on a golf course that's really not well suited for me.

"I know that going in, so hopefully I can stay calm and collected and just try and pick some tight lines and just trim off the fat, which is what I'm trying to do next week to get ready for Augusta."

Australian Matt Jones returns to Houston to defend his title, having pipped Matt Kuchar in a play-off in 2014.

Sergio Garcia, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Reed, Brendan Steele, Ryan Moore, J.B. Holmes and Louis Oosthuizen are also set to feature in a strong field.

However, Swedish world number three Henrik Stenson will not make the trip after withdrawing from the tournament due to the flu.
