Video: Is this the worst putt of all time?

Adam Scott

Even Greg Norman, Australia’s greatest choker, would’ve been proud.

Scott played well amoungst the leaders on the final round, making six birdies through the first 10 holes.

Then it all fell apart.

A bogey on the 14th was a stumbling block, but not the end of the world.

What happened next on the 15th remains a mystery.

Scott had a long putt for birdie but pulled it up just short for an easy tap-in.

Well, it would be easy if you weren’t carving out a reputation as one of golf’s greatest chokers.

The commentator’s disgusted “oh no…I can’t believe my eyes,” summed up the Aussie’s misery.

“That’s the shortest putt we’ve seen miss by any player in the Championship.”

Scott will always have a green jacket to fall back on, but after his efforts this year, and with memories of the 2012 Open when he relinquished a four-shot lead with four holes to play, his reputation for wasting his chances is steadily growing.

Still, surely nothing can ever compare to countryman Greg Norman’s capitulation at the 1996 Masters.
