Japanese rookie Yoshinori Fujimoto delivered on his immense potential with a two-shot victory at the Citibank Cup on Sunday, while Brendan Jones was the best placed Australian.

It was the 22-year-old's fourth top-10 finish in his first five events on the Japan Golf Tour as countrymen Masamichi Uehira and Yuta Ikeda made it a Japanese top three.

Jones was equal 10th with Kename Yokoo after a final round 71 to finish at five under.

Nick Cullen (35th), Kurt Barnes (43rd) and Paul Sheehan (63rd) were the other Australians in the field.

Fujimoto won with 13-under-par after four consistent rounds of 68, 68, 67 and 68 after taking a one-stroke lead into the final round.

The win at the Shishido Hills golf course moved Fujimoto to number two on the money list just months after turning professional.
