Spieth rediscovers Masters form to move into RBC Heritage contention

Jordan Spieth shook off his Masters hangover to post a nine-under round of 62 on day two of the RBC Heritage.

After slipping his arms into the sleeves of the green jacket on Sunday, Spieth looked to be feeling the effects of his Augusta exertions on Thursday when he posted two bogeys and a double-bogey in a three-over 74.

However, golf's hottest property surged up the leaderboard with a scintillating round on Friday, leaving himself six under for the tournament.

Spieth's round, which started on the 10th, got off to a promising start as he sunk a six-foot birdie putt.

Back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15 were followed by further gains on the 17th, second, third and fifth.

Spieth then finished with a flourish in the form of consecutive birdies on eight and nine, making an excellent approach shot on the latter, to end his round tied for second, having ranked 93rd at the end of day one.
