Scott focused on Australian Masters

Northern Irishman and world number one Rory McIlroy beat Scott to win the Australia Open last year, overturning a one-shot deficit at the final hole to triumph at Royal Sydney.

McIlroy's win denied Scott the chance to clinch Australia's triple crown after the world number two had taken out the Australian PGA Championship and Masters.

Scott is back in Australia preparing for the Australian Masters at the Metropolitan Golf Course in Melbourne, which tees off on Thursday.

And the 34-year-old Australian insisted his chance of revenge against McIlroy can wait a week as he attempts to become the first golfer to win three consecutive Masters gold jackets.

"It's pretty easy for me to concentrate this week," Scott said on Wednesday.

"I've got a lot on the line and I can make my own little bit of history in the Australian Masters, and hopefully win three in a row and that's where my head's at.

"If I do that it will only put me in better shape for next week, so I'm only thinking about this tournament and will have to deal with Rory and all the other guys next week.

"I've still got a thorn in my side about the Australian Open last year so it will be fun to have another crack at that."
