The Englishman has enjoyed another productive season after winning tournaments on both the PGA and European Tours in 2014.

He was also a part of the European team that successfully defended the Ryder Cup against the United States at Gleneagles last month.

Rose is now set to play in the BMW Masters this weekend - the beginning of four tournaments in the Final Series that ends with the World Tour Championships next month.

The 34-year-old is aware that he is unlikely to trouble leader Rory McIlroy in the final Race to Dubai standings, but is competing in three of the four Final Series events in order to try and boost his current position of sixth in the world rankings.

"I'm not sure I can catch Rory in The Race to Dubai," he said ahead of the tournament played at the Lake Malaren Golf Club in Shanghai.

"But the Bonus Pool runs deep down to 15th and I want to strengthen my world ranking as much as possible.

"If I can play well and maybe win a couple of tournaments between now and the end of the season, I could probably get up to second in the world, which would be a personal best. So there’s always something to play for."
