Robert Allenby linked to Waikiki strip club

Robert Allenby

The Golf Channel.com says it has spoken to several witnesses the night Allenby was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted.

It claims it had interviewed multiple witnesses and retraced Allenby's steps after he had dinner with friends at the Amuse Wine Bar in downtown Honolulu.

After Allenby left the bar he went to Club Femme and was there until around midnight with "a group of friends" and ran up a $US3400 bar tab, GolfChannel.com reported, citing multiple sources who were working at the premises.

Police continue to investigate  while Allenby is yet to return to the PGA tour due to the injuries he sustained on the evening of January 16.

"The incident involving Mr Allenby continues to be classified as a second-degree robbery and fraudulent use of credit card,” Honolulu police spokesman Michelle Yu said.

"No arrest has been made.”

He suffered facial cuts and bruising to his face and claimed he was hit in the face with a fist or baseball bat and robbed.

Some Australian newspaper reports suggest he actually fell into a garden becasue of his extreme intoxication.

Allenby may shed more light when he holds a scheduled press conference on Tuesday in Phoenix, Arizona, the site of the next Tour event.
