Play at Honda Classic suspended

The third round of the Honda Classic has been suspended until Sunday due to inclement weather conditions at Palm Beach Gardens.

The tournament was affected by heavy rains on Friday, leading to the suspension of the second round.

By the time the second round was completed on Saturday, Padraig Harrington had emerged as the leader thanks to a four-under-par 66, a pair of bogeys at the eighth and ninth holes (his 17th and 18th) blighting his card somewhat as he finished on seven under overall.

Patrick Reed is a further shot behind, while Ian Poulter and Brendan Steele are tied for third a five under.

Round three was due to start after the end of the second round, but the heavens opened once again and the decision was taken to push the action back.

With the storm not set to pass for some hours, the course will not be ready for play until 10:00 (ET) on Sunday.

On their website, the PGA Tour confirmed players will not be re-paired for the final round, but there will not be enough daylight to finish, meaning the event will now conclude on Monday.
