Ormsby leads in Jerez

Australia's Wade Ormsby, Spaniard Pedro Oriol and American Peter Uihlein are tied for the lead at the European Tour Q-School second-stage event in Jerez, Spain.

Ormsby, Oriol and Uihlein are level at four-under par at the Costa Ballena Ocean Club's par-72 course in one of four qualifying tour events on in Spain this week.

Ormsby's compatriot Matt Jager is two shots further back in equal seventh spot on two-under.

Elsewhere, Sweden's Joakim Lagergren shot a stunning eight-under-par 63 to lead the event in Murcia.

Lagergren, a Swedish Challenge Tour member, went bogey-free in his 18 holes at the El Valle Golf Resort.

His round included six birdies and an eagle on the par-four 11th to move him one shot clear of Floris De Vries after the opening round.

Denmark's Morten Orum Madsen and Andreas Harto are two of five golfers tied for the lead at five under at the qualifying event in Alicante.

Joining them in a tie for the lead after the opening round are South African Le Roux Ferreira, Finn Antti Ahokas and England's Benn Barham at the Las Colinas Golf and Country Club.

Australian Anthony Summers has some work to do after recording a one-under 70 to be in a tie for 27th.

And South Africa's Allan Versfeld and England's Graeme Clark are tied for the lead on seven-under-par at the La Manga Club in Cartagena.
