Kim eagles play-off hole to pip Park

Kim Sei Young - Cropped

Kim Sei-young won the Lotte Championship in extraordinary fashion on Saturday, chipping in to force a play-off before holing out for eagle from the fairway on the first extra hole.

Park Inbee was the one to suffer from Kim's brilliance, outgunned by her fellow South Korean - who won her second career LPGA Tour title after breaking her duck at the Bahamas LPGA Classic in February.

Park two-putted for par on the 72nd hole at the Ko Olina Golf Club in Hawaii, to put one hand on her 14th LPGA Tour trophy.

Instead, the former world number one was left on 13 titles, as Kim chipped in to force a play-off - and avoided needing her putter again on 18, as she holed her only eagle of the week at the crucial time.

Kim (one-over-par 73) and Park (71) finished level at 11 under, two clear of third-placed IK Kim (74).

Kim Hyo-joo (69) and Choi Chella (72) were tied for fourth on seven under to complete an all-South Korean top-five.

Sandra Gal (69) was outright sixth a further stroke back, while at four under in a tie for seventh place were Feng Shanshan (69), Mika Miyazato (71), Cristie Kerr (72) and Jenny Shin (76).
