Korean Kim Kyung-tae secured his second Maekyung Open crown with a dominant eight-shot victory on Sunday.

After finishing runner-up last year, the 2007 champion posted the biggest winning margin in the 30th edition of the tournament after his six-under par 66 in the final round took him to 21-under overall.

The 24-year-old, who started the week as world number 37, began the final day with a six-shot advantage and never looked like surrendering it as he cruised to victory at the Nam Seoul Country Club.

"Last year I did not win, but before this season I set my goal to win in Korea and I am delighted to be able to win this event for the second time," said Kim Kyung-tae.

"It was difficult at the start of the second round because the players behind me made some early birdies, but I was then able to start putting better and managed to make some birdies myself."

Kim Hyung-sung matched Kim Kyung-tae-s feat of posting back-to-back rounds of 66 over the weekend to claim second place alongside fellow Korean Cho Min-gyu, who closed with a 68.

Hwang In-choon was a further three strokes back, while American John Huh and Korean dup Park Jaw-bum and Lee Seong-ho were another shot back in a tie for fifth.

Defending champion Kim Dae-hyun failed to mount a fourth-round challenge after struggling to an even par 72 and eventually finished 13 shots adrift of his playing partner.

"I was not actually worried about Kim Dae-hyun, I was worried about Cho Min-gyu because even though he is not a well-known player in Korea, I know him from the Japan Tour and I know he is a very good player and he putted very well," added Kim Kyung-tae.

"But I just tried to concentrate on my own game and I was able to win. I made a birdie on the 12th hole and after that I was certain that I was going to win."
