Spieth shot a two-under 70 on Saturday to join Bubba Watson at the top of the Masters' leaderboard at five under.

The 20-year-old American would become the youngest ever winner of a famous green jacket if he prevails on Sunday - surpassing Tiger Woods - and Spieth knows the fourth round will be an entirely new experience for him.

"It's a dream come true, to be in the final group, to just kind of see what it's like," Spieth said at Augusta.

"I don’t think I've ever had a round where I've been nervous on every single swing, shot and putt.

"I'm sure that will happen tomorrow but hopefully I can channel it positively and stay grounded, stay cool and see what happens."

Spieth was one under through nine on Saturday and bogeyed the 11th hole but responded with consecutive birdies on the 14th and 15th holes to join overnight leader Watson in a tie for first.

Now he can prepare for the kind of final round he has always dreamed about.

"You just dream of what it would mean and how cool it would be, all those putts I hit when I was real young with my friends on trying to win the Masters," Spieth said.

"I would love the opportunity to test it tomorrow."
