FedEx Cup leader Jimmy Walker returns to action and begins his search for form at the Texas Open starting Thursday.

The American made a blistering start to 2015, winning the Sony Open, finishing runner-up at the Tournament of Champions and tied for seventh at the Farmers Insurance Open.

But he failed to finish in the top 20 at the next three tournaments, the last of which was the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

Walker, 36, will be eager to impress at TPC San Antonio, where Jordan Spieth will also be eyeing his second PGA Tour title of the year.

Spieth is in action for the first time since he claimed the Valspar Championship.

Dustin Johnson has been in good form since his return to competition, the American world number nine coming off a win at the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

Johnson has three top-10 finishes to his name in 2015, including that victory.

Australian Steven Bowditch is the defending champion, and he returns aiming to go back-to-back.

Brendan Steele, the 2011 winner, is also among the field – on a run of 14 straight tournaments at which he has made the cut.

Jason Kokrak has looked to be closing in on a win, backing up his tied for seventh at the Valspar with an equal sixth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Sunday.

The Texas Open shapes as one of the final chances for players to fine-tune their games ahead of the Masters in April.

Walker is searching for the form he had at the start of the year, while others look to build momentum.
