Jim Furyk wasn't having a season to remember heading into the week, but that all changed with a dramatic playoff win over Kevin Kisner at the RBC Heritage.

It's Furyk's first win of the season, and 17th of his career. He got off to a blazing start turning in an inward nine of 6-under-par 30 at Harbour Town Golf Links, and stayed strong on the back nine to shoot 63. Furyk won this event in 2010 in a playoff over Brian Davis, back when it was still called the Verizon Heritage.

Kisner birdied the 18th hole to force a playoff after an impressive 7-under 64. Third-round leader Troy Merritt got off to a bumpy start, bogeying his opening hole, but fought through the nerves and pressure to shoot 2-under 69 and finish third.

Defending champion Matt Kuchar got it to within one of Furyk's lead on the back nine, but bogeys on 14 and 16 dashed his hopes of a second-straight plaid jacket.

Furyk moves up to No. 5 in the World Golf Rankings with the win, and will be one of the favorites at the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Match Play in two weeks.
