Day isn’t the only Aussie golfer who is confident about his chances of claiming a maiden major championship title.

Golfing great Greg Norman believes Day is ready to make the leap, despite clearly being physically hampered by episodes of vertigo throughout his rounds at the notoriously difficult Chambers Bay this week.

"I spoke to Jason earlier and he is ready for this,” Norman told Fox Sports in the U.S. on Monday morning (AEST).

“It's almost like nothing happened, he feels 80 per cent better today than yesterday.

“He slept in a neck brace which has helped him and he is really looking forward to the final round,” Norman said.

Jason Day currently holds a four-way share of the lead with South African Branden Grace, and American duo Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth at four under par.

Day teed off for his fourth and final round with playing partner Dustin Johnson at 8.00am (AEST).
