Health scare forces Jason Day to withdraw from tournament

Jason Day

Jason Day has decided to withdraw from the Travelers Championship after battling with vertigo at the U.S. Open.

The Australian fell to the ground at the final hole of his second round on Friday at Chambers Bay, suffering with dizziness.

Day managed to complete his round and, despite continuing to struggle with the problem throughout the weekend, finished tied for ninth on even-par.

With the Travelers Championship set to get under way on Thursday, organisers of the PGA Tour event confirmed Day had pulled out.
