Gallacher, 39, competes at the Czech Masters starting Thursday, looking for a return to form after back-to-back missed cuts.

Still a chance to qualify via the World Points List, Gallacher said that needed to be his focus.

"Obviously it is in the back of my mind and the hard thing is going to be doing what you do normally," he said.

"I am in a position with two to go where I can still automatically qualify which is a great place to be.

"It is exciting and a case of you try and do well at the tournament, prepare to win it and it has been good golf which got me to this position so the worst thing I can do is think of something else.

"I am taking it week by week until it is done."

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell, Swede Henrik Stenson, Frenchman Victor Dubuisson, Spain's Sergio Garcia, England's Justin Rose, German Martin Kaymer, Dane Thomas Bjorn and Welshman Jamie Donaldson currently sit in the nine places.

A further three captain's picks will be selected by skipper Paul McGinley in early September before the event begins at Gleneagles.
