Jim Furyk has jumped five places to fifth in golf's world rankings following his victory at the RBC Heritage.

The American came through a play-off against compatriot Kevin Kisner to claim his 17th PGA Tour success, shooting his competition-best 63 on Sunday to force the additional holes.

After matching Kisner's birdie at the 18th in the opening hole of the play-off, Furyk went one under at the 17th to beat his opponent's par and triumph in South Carolina.

Kisner's reward for pushing Furyk all the way is a 135-place climb to 122nd in the world.

Furyk's rise is the only change in the top 10, with Rory McIlroy remaining top and Masters winner Jordan Spieth staying second.

Elsewhere, Matt Kuchar rose three places to 14th, while Tiger Woods slipped back down to 106th having climbed to 101st last week.
